Zaton – A Peaceful Escape

Just a short drive from Vodice – Zaton is a small, charming village known for its quiet harbour and authentic Dalmatian vibe. It’s a lovely spot for a relaxed afternoon walk along the promenade, with a few cosy cafes to enjoy the view. Just a 15-minute drive from our apartment.

Šibenik – The Nearest City

Only about 15 minutes from Vodice, Šibenik is famous for the stunning St. James Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander through the narrow stone streets, explore the old fortresses and enjoy a coffee by the lively waterfront. Šibenik is also the gateway to Krka National Park, making it a great combo day trip!

Skradin – Gateway to Krka National Park

This picturesque harbour town is not only beautiful but also the starting point for boat tours to Krka Waterfalls. Skradin charms visitors with its waterfront restaurants, small streets and relaxed atmosphere. It’s also a perfect spot to enjoy a swim in the Krka River before or after your visit to the falls. About 30 minutes from our apartment by car.

Benkovac Market – Authentic Croatian Culture

Held just once a month (every 10th), the Benkovac Market is a true cultural experience. Explore stalls filled with antiques, local produce, crafts and traditional tools. Locals from all over the region come here, giving you an authentic taste of rural Croatian life! Roughly a 35-minute drive from our apartment.

Primošten – Postcard Perfect Coastal Town

Nestled on a small peninsula, Primošten is a stunning coastal gem known for its panoramic views, charming old town and surrounding vineyards. Stroll the seaside promenade, visit the hilltop church for breathtaking vistas and relax at one of the cosy beaches. While it’s a bit further away (about 45 minutes from Vodice), the beauty of Primošten makes the trip more than worthwhile!

Zadar – Sea Organ, Roman History & Sunset Magic

Zadar blends history and creativity like few other cities. Stroll along the waterfront and listen to the unique Sea Organ, which creates music from the waves. Don’t miss the Sun Salutation, a solar-powered light installation that lights up at dusk. Explore Roman ruins, medieval churches and lively squares. From Vodice to Zadar it is about an hour’s drive to the north.

Fun fact: Zadar’s sunsets are said to be some of the most beautiful in the world, once praised by Alfred Hitchcock!

Trogir – UNESCO Gem full of charm

A true architectural treasure, Trogir is a UNESCO-listed town full of charm. Walk through its labyrinth of medieval alleys, admire the stunning Cathedral of St. Lawrence and soak in the Adriatic views from the old city walls. From Vodice to Trogir it’s just one hour south by car.

Did you know? – Game of Thrones fans will recognise parts of Trogir as filming locations, adding an extra layer of excitement to your visit!

Split – History, Energy & Game of Thrones Landmarks

No trip to Dalmatia is complete without visiting Split! The vibrant heart of the region, Split is home to the impressive Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO site that forms the lively core of the city. Wander through its narrow alleys filled with shops and cafes, explore local markets and soak up the energy of the Riva waterfront promenade. It takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes to drive from Vodice to Split, mainly on the motorway.

Another Fact: Game of Thrones fans will love exploring filming locations within the palace itself! Split perfectly combines ancient history with modern Mediterranean life.
