Located just above the harbor, the Old Town is a labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets lined with traditional Dalmatian stone houses. This historic heart of Vodice invites you to wander and discover charming boutiques, local art shops and authentic cafes.

Built in 1746 by renowned architect Ivan Skok, this stunning baroque church is one of the most important religious buildings in Dalmatia. Skok initially worked only on a chapel above the main altar, but the project soon evolved into the full construction of the church.

The bell tower, started in 1752, took over 20 years to complete. Its facade features elegant baroque elements and stone rosettes.

Just a few steps from the Church of the Holy Cross stands the historic Čorić Tower. This 16th-century tower is one of the last remnants of Vodice’s former fortifications. Originally commissioned by the Saracenis family, the structure later came under the ownership of the noble Fondra family of Šibenik, who transformed it into a residential building. Today, it’s a symbol of Vodice’s layered history.

If you’re looking for panoramic views and a spiritual escape, head to Okit Hill, located just behind Vodice. A marked pilgrimage trail leads to the Church of Gospa od Karmela, perched at the summit. The original church was built in the 17th century and destroyed multiple times over the centuries.

The current modern design is the work of celebrated Croatian architect Nikola Bašić, who also created the Sea Organ and Sun Salutation in Zadar.

Just off the coast of Vodice lies the island of Prvić, easily reached by taxi boat. This quiet island is known as the birthplace of Faust Vrančić, a Croatian inventor, priest and author, considered one of the great minds of the Renaissance alongside Da Vinci. His work Machinae Novae presented early designs of machines—including the parachute.

You can visit the Faust Vrančić Memorial Center to learn more about his life and inventions. Prvić also features four lovely churches and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a perfect island getaway near Vodice.

Just a few minutes west of Vodice lies the picturesque coastal village of Tribunj – a true hidden gem for those looking to experience Croatia’s charm away from the crowds. The historic center sits on a small peninsula and is connected to the mainland by a charming stone bridge.

The main highlight is the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Crkva Uznesenja Blažene Djevice Marije). Perched on a hill above the old town, it offers not only a peaceful place of reflection, but also breathtaking views over Tribunj and the Adriatic Sea. Built in the 18th century, the church is easily reached via a short walking path – and the sunset view from up there is truly magical.
